Maybe these words will be useful:
- split-c — Parallel extension of C for distributed memory multiprocessors. Aims to provide efficient low-level access to the underlying machine.
- split — to divide or separate from end to end or into layers: to split a log in two.
- split brain — having, involving, or pertaining to a severed corpus callosum.
- split cane — bamboo split into strips of triangular section, tapered, and glued to form a stiff but flexible hexagonal rod: used, esp formerly, for making fishing rods
- split decision — a decision of a bout on whose outcome the referee and judges did not unanimously agree.
- split end — an offensive end who lines up some distance outside the formation on the line of scrimmage as a pass receiver.
- split flap — a flap that is located on the under surface of the trailing edge of an aircraft wing and that splits away from the wing structure when rotated downward, producing an increase in lift or drag or both. Compare landing flap.
- split hairs — any of the numerous fine, usually cylindrical, keratinous filaments growing from the skin of humans and animals; a pilus.
