Words starting with banacha
Maybe these words will be useful:
- banach algebra — (mathematics) An algebra in which the vector space is a Banach space.
- banach inverse mapping theorem — (mathematics) In a Banach space the inverse to a continuous linear mapping is continuous.
- banach-tarski paradox — (mathematics) It is possible to cut a solid ball into finitely many pieces (actually about half a dozen), and then put the pieces together again to get two solid balls, each the same size as the original. This paradox is a consequence of the Axiom of Choice.
- banach space — a vector space on which a norm is defined that is complete.
- banana label — (jargon) The labels used on the sides of macrotape reels, so called because they were shaped roughly like blunt-ended bananas. This term, like macrotapes themselves, is obsolete.
- banana phenomenon — banana problem
- banana problem — (programming, humour) From the story of the little girl who said "I know how to spell "banana", but I don't know when to stop". Not knowing where or when to bring a production to a close (compare fencepost error). One may say "there is a banana problem" of an algorithm with poorly defined or incorrect termination conditions, or in discussing the evolution of a design that may be succumbing to featuritis (see also creeping elegance, creeping featuritis).
- banalisation — The action of making something banal; trivialization.
- banalization — the process of becoming or making something banal
- banana boat — a refrigerated ship used for transporting bananas
