  • decadent — If you say that a person or society is decadent, you think that they have low moral standards and are interested mainly in pleasure.

  • down the drain — If you say that something is going down the drain, you mean that it is being destroyed or wasted.
  • washed-up — done for; having failed completely.
  • burnt-out — Burnt-out vehicles or buildings have been so badly damaged by fire that they can no longer be used.
  • dog-tired — utterly exhausted; worn out.
