  • particle — a minute portion, piece, fragment, or amount; a tiny or very small bit: a particle of dust; not a particle of supporting evidence.
  • organ — Also called pipe organ. a musical instrument consisting of one or more sets of pipes sounded by means of compressed air, played by means of one or more keyboards, and capable of producing a wide range of musical effects.
  • partition — a division into or distribution in portions or shares.
  • hunk — a large piece or lump; chunk.
  • allotment — In Britain, an allotment is a small area of land in a town which a person rents to grow plants and vegetables on.
  • ingredient — something that enters as an element into a mixture: Flour, eggs, and sugar are the main ingredients in the cake.
  • bite — If you bite something, you use your teeth to cut into it, for example in order to eat it or break it. If an animal or person bites you, they use their teeth to hurt or injure you.
  • meed — a reward or recompense.

  • square — a rectangle having all four sides of equal length.
  • feature — a prominent or conspicuous part or characteristic: Tall buildings were a new feature on the skyline.

  • block — A block of flats or offices is a large building containing them.
  • integer — Mathematics. one of the positive or negative numbers 1, 2, 3, etc., or zero. Compare whole number.
  • schedule — a plan of procedure, usually written, for a proposed objective, especially with reference to the sequence of and time allotted for each item or operation necessary to its completion: The schedule allows three weeks for this stage.
  • subjects — that which forms a basic matter of thought, discussion, investigation, etc.: a subject of conversation.
  • breadth — The breadth of something is the distance between its two sides.
  • bore — If someone or something bores you, you find them dull and uninteresting.
  • caliber — the size of a bullet or shell as measured by its diameter
  • broadness — the state or character of being broad: the broadness of the ship; the broadness of his jokes.
  • space shuttle — any of several U.S. space vehicles consisting of a reusable manned orbiter that touches down on a landing strip after an orbital mission, two reusable solid rocket boosters that drop off after initial ascent, and an expendable external tank containing liquid propellants.
  • command module — the cone-shaped module used as the living quarters in an Apollo spacecraft and functioning as the splashdown vehicle
  • lunar module — the portion of the Apollo spacecraft in which two astronauts landed on the moon's surface and then returned to the orbiting command module. Abbreviation: LM.
  • part — a portion or division of a whole that is separate or distinct; piece, fragment, fraction, or section; constituent: the rear part of the house; to glue the two parts together.
  • element — A part or aspect of something abstract, especially one that is essential or characteristic.
  • building block — If you describe something as a building block of something, you mean it is one of the separate parts that combine to make that thing.
  • extra — Added to an existing or usual amount or number.
  • instalment — the act of installing.
  • calibre — The calibre of a person is the quality or standard of their ability or intelligence, especially when this is high.
