- canon — A canon is a member of the clergy who is on the staff of a cathedral.
- book of common prayer — the official book of church services of the Church of England, until 1980, when the Alternative Service Book was sanctioned
- mass book — missal (def 1).
- breviary — a book of psalms, hymns, prayers, etc, to be recited daily by clerics in major orders and certain members of religious orders as part of the divine office
- psalmbook — a book containing psalms for liturgical or devotional use.
- psalter — the Biblical book of Psalms.
- scripture — Often, Scriptures. Also called Holy Scripture, Holy Scriptures. the sacred writings of the Old or New Testaments or both together.
