- come upon — If you come upon someone or something, you meet them or find them by chance.
- cook up — If someone cooks up a dishonest scheme, they plan it.
- knock off — an act or instance of knocking.
- make up — the style or manner in which something is made; form; build.
- turn out — to cause to move around on an axis or about a center; rotate: to turn a wheel.
- off-the-cuff — with little or no preparation; extemporaneous; impromptu: a speaker with a good off-the-cuff delivery.
