verb engage
- obligate — to bind or oblige morally or legally: to obligate oneself to purchase a building.
- oblige — to require or constrain, as by law, command, conscience, or force of necessity.
- pass — to move past; go by: to pass another car on the road.
- pledge — a solemn promise or agreement to do or refrain from doing something: a pledge of aid; a pledge not to wage war.
- tie — to bind, fasten, or attach with a cord, string, or the like, drawn together and knotted: to tie a tin can on a dog's tail.
- vouch — to support as being true, certain, reliable, etc. (usually followed by for): Her record in office vouches for her integrity.
- vow — a solemn promise, pledge, or personal commitment: marriage vows; a vow of secrecy.
- troth — faithfulness, fidelity, or loyalty: by my troth.
- turn on — to cause to move around on an axis or about a center; rotate: to turn a wheel.
