chisel — A chisel is a tool that has a long metal blade with a sharp edge at the end. It is used for cutting and shaping wood and stone.
embed — Fix (an object) firmly and deeply in a surrounding mass.
imprint — a mark made by pressure; a mark or figure impressed or printed on something.
ingrain — to implant or fix deeply and firmly, as in the nature or mind.
inscribe — to address or dedicate (a book, photograph, etc.) informally to a person, especially by writing a brief personal note in or on it.
bite — If you bite something, you use your teeth to cut into it, for example in order to eat it or break it. If an animal or person bites you, they use their teeth to hurt or injure you.
burn — If there is a fire or a flame somewhere, you say that there is a fire or flame burning there.
chase — If you chase someone, or chase after them, you run after them or follow them quickly in order to catch or reach them.
crosshatch — to shade or hatch (forms, figures, etc) with two or more sets of parallel lines that cross one another
cut — If you cut something, you use a knife or a similar tool to divide it into pieces, or to mark it or damage it. If you cut a shape or a hole in something, you make the shape or hole by using a knife or similar tool.

print — to produce (a text, picture, etc.) by applying inked types, plates, blocks, or the like, to paper or other material either by direct pressure or indirectly by offsetting an image onto an intermediate roller.
scratch — to break, mar, or mark the surface of by rubbing, scraping, or tearing with something sharp or rough: to scratch one's hand on a nail.
stipple — to paint, engrave, or draw by means of dots or small touches.
diaper — A diaper is a piece of soft towel or paper, which you fasten round a baby's bottom in order to soak up its urine and faeces.
intaglio — incised carving, as opposed to carving in relief.
mezzotint — a method of engraving on copper or steel by burnishing or scraping away a uniformly roughened surface.
