disciples — Religion. one of the 12 personal followers of Christ. one of the 70 followers sent forth by Christ. Luke 10:1. any other professed follower of Christ in His lifetime.
puritans — a member of a group of Protestants that arose in the 16th century within the Church of England, demanding the simplification of doctrine and worship, and greater strictness in religious discipline: during part of the 17th century the Puritans became a powerful political party.
segregationists — one who favors, encourages, or practices segregation, especially racial segregation.
nonconformists — a person who refuses to conform, as to established customs, attitudes, or ideas.
agitators — a person who stirs up others in order to upset the status quo and further a political, social, or other cause: The boss said he would fire any union agitators.
