plummeting — Also called plumb bob. a piece of lead or some other weight attached to a line, used for determining perpendicularity, for sounding, etc.; the bob of a plumb line.
falling — to drop or descend under the force of gravity, as to a lower place through loss or lack of support.
soaking — to lie in and become saturated or permeated with water or some other liquid.
wetting — moistened, covered, or soaked with water or some other liquid: wet hands.
dunking — any flavorful sauce, dip, gravy, etc., into which portions of food are dipped before eating.
steeping — to soak in water or other liquid, as to soften, cleanse, or extract some constituent: to steep tea in boiling-hot water; to steep reeds for basket weaving.
