  • directory — a book containing an alphabetical index of the names and addresses of persons in a city, district, organization, etc., or of a particular category of people.
  • catalog — A catalog is a list of things such as the goods you can buy from a particular company, the objects in a museum, or the books in a library.
  • archive — The archive or archives are a collection of documents and records that contain historical information. You can also use archives to refer to the place where archives are stored.
  • prospectus — a document describing the major features of a proposed literary work, project, business venture, etc., in enough detail so that prospective investors, participants, or buyers may evaluate it: Don't buy the new stock offering until you read the prospectus carefully.
  • inventory — a complete listing of merchandise or stock on hand, work in progress, raw materials, finished goods on hand, etc., made each year by a business concern.

  • syllabus — an outline or other brief statement of the main points of a discourse, the subjects of a course of lectures, the contents of a curriculum, etc.
  • draft — a drawing, sketch, or design.
  • gazette — a newspaper (now used chiefly in the names of newspapers): The Phoenix Gazette.
  • roll — to move along a surface by revolving or turning over and over, as a ball or a wheel.
  • roster — a list of persons or groups, as of military personnel or units with their turns or periods of duty.
  • slate — a fine-grained rock formed by the metamorphosis of clay, shale, etc., that tends to split along parallel cleavage planes, usually at an angle to the planes of stratification.
  • compendium — A compendium is a short but detailed collection of information, usually in a book.
