disposition — the predominant or prevailing tendency of one's spirits; natural mental and emotional outlook or mood; characteristic attitude: a girl with a pleasant disposition.
unexpurgated — to amend by removing words, passages, etc., deemed offensive or objectionable: Most children read an expurgated version of Grimms' fairy tales.
murder — Law. the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the U.S., special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation or premeditation or occurring during the commission of another serious crime, as robbery or arson (first-degree murder) and murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder)
purification — to make pure; free from anything that debases, pollutes, adulterates, or contaminates: to purify metals.
reign of terror — a period of the French Revolution, from about March, 1793, to July, 1794, during which many persons were ruthlessly executed by the ruling faction.
bath — A bath is a container, usually a long rectangular one, which you fill with water and sit in while you wash your body.
laundry — articles of clothing, linens, etc., that have been or are to be washed.
soaking — to lie in and become saturated or permeated with water or some other liquid.
ablution — the ritual washing of a priest's hands or of sacred vessels
fomentation — encouragement of discord, rebellion, etc.; instigation.
lavabo — Ecclesiastical. the ritual washing of the celebrant's hands after the offertory in the Mass, accompanied in the Roman rite by the recitation of Psalm 26:6–12. the passage recited. the small towel or the basin used.
