Two-syllable rhymes

  • impact printer — (printer)   The earlier, noisier kind of printer where part of the mechanism comes into contact with the paper. The term would only be only used in contrast to "non-impact printer". Examples include line printer, daisy wheel printer, golf ball printer, dot matrix printer, Braille printer.
  • laser printer — Computers. a high-speed printer that uses a laser to form dot-matrix patterns and an electrostatic process to fuse metallic particles to paper a page at a time: capable of producing a variety of character fonts, graphics, and other symbols.
  • overwinter — to pass, spend, or survive the winter: to overwinter on the Riviera.
  • thermal printer — a printer that produces output by selectively heating a heat-sensitive paper (thermal paper) in patterns corresponding to the characters to be produced.
