One-syllable rhymes

  • hypocrite — a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
  • icarus — Also, Ikaros. Classical Mythology. a youth who attempted to escape from Crete with wings of wax and feathers but flew so high that his wings melted from the heat of the sun, and he plunged to his death in the sea.
  • inclement — (of the weather, the elements, etc.) severe, rough, or harsh; stormy.
  • indicate — to be a sign of; betoken; evidence; show: His hesitation really indicates his doubt about the venture.
  • indigent — lacking food, clothing, and other necessities of life because of poverty; needy; poor; impoverished.
  • innocent — free from moral wrong; without sin; pure: innocent children.
  • intimate — associated in close personal relations: an intimate friend.
  • intricate — having many interrelated parts or facets; entangled or involved: an intricate maze.
  • literate — able to read and write.
  • litigant — a person engaged in a lawsuit.
  • official — a person appointed or elected to an office or charged with certain duties.
  • syllabus — an outline or other brief statement of the main points of a discourse, the subjects of a course of lectures, the contents of a curriculum, etc.
  • syndicate — a group of individuals or organizations combined or making a joint effort to undertake some specific duty or carry out specific transactions or negotiations: The local furniture store is individually owned, but is part of a buying syndicate.
  • syphilis — a chronic infectious disease, caused by a spirochete, Treponema pallidum, usually venereal in origin but often congenital, and affecting almost any organ or tissue in the body, especially the genitals, skin, mucous membranes, aorta, brain, liver, bones, and nerves.
  • terrific — extraordinarily great or intense: terrific speed.
  • triplicate — one of three identical items, especially copies of typewritten material.

Four-or-more syllable rhymes

  • associate — If you associate someone or something with another thing, the two are connected in your mind.
  • deliberate — If you do something that is deliberate, you planned or decided to do it beforehand, and so it happens on purpose rather than by chance.
  • self-extinguishing — to put out (a fire, light, etc.); put out the flame of (something burning or lighted): to extinguish a candle.
  • illiterate — unable to read and write: an illiterate group.
